As decorative finishers, we toil daily in the midst of dirty, hot/cold, ugly environs in the process of creating beauty.
Not so much on our project at Peacock Pavilions.
Dirt? Dusty.
Hot? Very warm.
Ugly? On the contrary, unexpectedly beautiful.
Let's just say I had a difficult time keeping my camera stashed away so I could get the work done.
Lovely vignettes surrounded us. It was like living inside the pages of my favorite dogeared issue of Elle Decor magazine as we worked.
Here an abandoned tea glass, forgotten on the floral hand-carved mantel...
There a hardy vine rising out of the driest of earth....
Everywhere at our savory traditional luncheons...
Behind the scenes in casually arranged bouquets...
Awaiting the most artful of presentations amongst the strewn lumber...
While somewhere nearby petite arrangements line up to brighten our afternoon tea trays...
And one lone bouquet is thoughtfully placed to catch the afternoon breeze drifting through the cottage...
While outside a natural earth posy warms in the sun...
I'm still learning about life and travels to faux in foreign lands...
Sometimes I simply need to look at the small picture to see the big one.
If there is such beauty in tiny doses - what must there be in the large projects we create?
To be continued.
